BRICKS AND BRICKS
By Roger Wallock copyright 2007
Dark secrets fester.
Squealing tires burning
holes in our souls,
screaming to be free
from their dungeons.
Dishonesties need to
be fabricated
to protect others
from their poisonous truth.
Truths, that if released,
ruin lives and crumble
relationships. They must
be shackled and chained,
tied to the walls,
buried beneath
bricks and bricks
of secrecy.
Mistakes that must be
transferred only from
the depths of our souls to
the depths of our own graves.
Honesty only hurts,
it never heals.
The secret breathes through
flaring nostrils; its mouth
gagged with lies.
