Roger Wallock is a high school Language Arts teacher at Battle Mountain High School in the town of Battle Mountain, located in Nevada's Lander County. He enjoys coaching and has had his hands in a "little bit of everything but his current focus is being the boys' varsity basketball and golf coach.

He attended the Great Basin Writing Project in 2004, an experience that he says changed 90% of his teaching methods. He loves to write stories and poems about the things he is passionate about: family, coaching, teaching, and golf.

Roger and his wife Raelyn have been married for 20 years and they have four children: Ashley, Tony, Mandy, and Austin.
